Build a professional website on a Budget

This is the beginning as part of a suite of articles on creating a great looking web site with just a bit 'of money. The recipients of this essay is web developers with some experience (or maybe you know someone with the technical ability), and you want to build a sort of Internet existence on a budget.

To make this simple relationship that I'm going to use a company called godaddy.com for domain name registration and hosting. Although this argument should not be an exact recognition of GoDaddy, I've been happy with their packages and their use allows me to put some real dollar figures.

The choice of a domain name.

This could very well be a little harder 'to start your own website. There are a couple of corners that we should look.

- Are you looking to promote your product or products?

- Want to be trying to get good positioning in search engines?

- Are you trying to convey an idea?

Chances are you trying to be part of all three. Just keep in mind that if you do not have visitors, the brand and the idea are just about useless. Strive to achieve adequate uniformity, but the mind to select a domain name with some keywords that you are trying to address in your SEO (search engine optimization). If you have knowledge of SEO, you can find lots of information and mis-information on the net about it. Some of my recent writings will touch this, so depending on when you're reading this you may want to try one of the websites listed in the author resource box for further clarification.

This is not your domain name already taken?

Ok, you have an idea for the domain name, but it is achievable? Go to http://www.godaddy.com and do a search of the domain name. The best part of hosting and registration services have this capability and will be easy to find on their home page. There is no cost to see if your domain name has caused. If it is, then it's time to buy, if not, larger facilities (like godaddy) have proposed alternatives. Occasionally they get it right, but most of the time you'd be better to come up with another idea. Mind, do not rush on this, is a consideration cruicial.

Purchase your domain name

Having a visa or mastercard? Then you are almost complete. Just follow the instructions on the screen, be sure to take the time to compile the information, I have heard stories of webmasters who have had their domains closed due to incorrect information (bad phone #, address or e-mail). About the e-mail in particular, make sure that what you're going to have for a long time. I'm close enough to the initial domain I registered as a renewal request was delivered to an e-mail that I have more control.

What add ons are worth?

In the course of paying for your domain, godaddy will ask "Do you want fries with that?" Or the equivalent web anyway. They bombard you with lots of options, each of which can be purchased later. Furthermore, at this moment the only one who might want to consider is the internet hosting. I chose the deluxe package of Internet hosting (linux) which was 5.59/month% for a period of two years. He gave me plenty of space and bandwidth solid. Along with this, it allowed me to access the MySQL database, Java and PHP are all essential to my plans. Moreover, the (http) network portion of the server is apache, which I have designed some prior knowledge of and a large number of guides online.

Godaddy also allows me to set many 10MB of e-mail ids for me to use. So if you're wondering what you should add at this time, the internet hosting is recommended.

Here, you buy a domain and a bit 'hosting. You have made the first move to have a web presence. The next step will be to get your site ready for conent ... but that my friends is another article.
