For most of those who want to lose weight the word "diet" means reducing the amount of food you can eat. A very healthy diet should be done by eating less calorie food loaded with simple carbohydrates (sugar and processed flour) and eat more protein, vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grains.

First, use your muscle tissue for energy, you lose vital muscle mass which is metabolically active. You need that energy to support muscle which helps your metabolism is running faster. A faster metabolism = burn more calories (even while resting). On the other hand your body fat does not need energy to support this.

Second, your body then go into a starvation mode and begin to store more fat because it is preparing for the worst. To prevent your body from going into a defensive mode, you have to do is eat smaller meals more then throughout the day. Why this works? By eating more often will not be hungry as fast, plus it will keep your metabolic rate high because you'll be digesting food more often.

Digesting food uses calories just like any other physical activity. So I plan to look something like this:

Eat 5-6 times a day. Do not eat what everyone considers meals (main course, side dishes and desserts). Only a small amount of protein with some green vegetables and fruits. While you take the time to plan and prepare this can easily be reached. +
