Problems of the architectural profession

This past week I was reading the report on the status of the profession of architect, who edited all the years in October, the Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain.

The reading of the document is very revealing about the issues that affect us, or rather, we think affect us, since it is the results of a survey on a sample of the profession.

But what are these problems? Mainly three:

Of course the picture is frightening, but as we are senior technicians, we must be able to meet these new challenges and provide solutions, transferring our know-how society, opting for a restructuring of the profession to address, from the professionalism and good work, all these problems.

We must face these problems together, and I say together because it seems increasingly clear that the professional schools, are doomed to disappear as we know them today if they are still promoting centers of its management staff, with political aspirations or not and become our true supporters, to promote and defend the work and professionalism of the architect and actually transmit these values ​​to society.

But this work is having to do with us, the architects and our testimonial and corporate support, but with our active participation and our active membership.

Since the active participation and support of the profession as a whole, I get these lines with some possible solutions, from my humble opinion we can start now. Must not fail to be technical, but we need to start being a little more entrepreneurs and business perspective we must address all three problems detected: lack of orders, unemployment and excessive number of graduates.
