Causes and Consequences of Induced Abortion

Being a mom means many things, and is a process that changes the lives of women as a whole, which is why many of them, when in this situation, choose to stop the process early and decide to abort.

Abortion is a medical procedure that ends pregnancy, but unfortunately has many consequences that most do not know. For a woman, the decision is a complicated and painful, which can be many causes of why do not go on with life the baby.

One of them is the fear of women to talk to their parents and expose this situation. Because they are afraid of how they will react, prefer silence and hide what is happening before facing reality.

Another reason is because it is not certain that you have the financial means to feed and raise the baby. Thinking about what it means to be mother and the weight involved, makes the decision to stop the process, take the easy way.

A third cause may be the threat of the couple, if pregnancy does not stop, they will be abandoned, where the visualization of single parenthood, the paralyzed and terrified.

The fourth leading cause psychological conflicts are not solved, in the case of women who have had a bad experience to bond with their mothers, there is the latent fear to confront their own experience of motherhood.

As a fifth reason is the social factor, where "what people will say" for them is essential. They tend to think they will be judged and criticized by others and not feel prepared or have the necessary tools to face the world.

As a sixth-important cause is the age of the woman, and that is very different to get pregnant at age 29 to age 14. When the teenager is in this situation, many fears arise at once, and what about your studies? What your family think? Is your current partner to accompany man throughout his life? and so on.

The Royal Academy of Obstetrics of England has reported that the odds of having severe and enduring mental health problems after an abortion, can reach up to 59% of mothers. The World Health Organization, meanwhile, reports that women who had abortions for psychiatric reasons are precisely those most at risk of mental problems after completing the abortion.

Other studies show that women have an abortion for reasons of rape, incest, health, etc.., Are more likely to suffer severe emotional and psychiatric problems than those that have practiced for socioeconomic reasons.

Among the physical consequences involves an abortion can be found: menstrual disorders, infections, peritonitis, perforated uterus or bowel, blood clots passengers, fever / night sweats, severe pain, bleeding, infertility if left remains in the uterus, spontaneous abortions, among others.

As psychological consequences that affect the mother include: guilt, suicidal impulses, feelings of grief, withdrawal, self-destructive behavior, anger, rage, despair, grief and guilt, low self-esteem, dissatisfaction, and so on.

After an induced abortion is common to present the "Post-Abortion Syndrome", and its symptoms include: grief and pain, this is because it is known that the person guilty of the loss and struggle with forgiveness for having taken such decision. Any loss generates a duel and is much more difficult to overcome the pain of an abortion produced than spontaneous abortion.

It generates feelings of guilt, which is more likely to fall into depressive states that are manifested through great sorrow, crying, pessimistic view of the world, etc..

The aggressiveness is very characteristic after the occurrence of abortion. Women tend to unload the guilt upon themselves and the feeling of victimization for others. It also generates a great emotional uncertainty, where the feeling of indifference and neglect that she assumed that her son has suffered from it, begins to haunt her: you feel unloved, rejected and emotionally abandoned by others.

The feeling of failure is common, as to fill the gap, women tend to want to replace the lost child. As a result of abortion, it creates a fear in relation to the next child to come forward, for example, fear or abuse them to the void left with the first loss ever fails to meet.

Some women who have abortions are later conduct problems maternity: they have trouble feeding their children react with fear or aggression to the cries of their babies and even a kind of rejection (caused by fear), and how it is perceived instinctively the baby, it generates feelings of abandonment. Sometimes, as do not want to hurt their child and are aware of not knowing how to treat it, sending him from an early end, with no need to nurseries.

Most of these symptoms do not occur immediately, as the woman who has had an abortion has a defense mechanism to protect, where symptoms may take several years to manifest. Changes occur in sleep (nightmares persistent), crisis of identity, confidence, feelings of cynicism (awareness of lost innocence), and even psychosomatic illnesses such as anorexia and bulimia.

All these problems require a thorough psychological treatment, because the abortion brings great impact on the lives of every woman. There are statistics that indicate that, in most cases, the couple eventually separated the following year and end the relationship because the woman has feelings of regret that the couple does not share.

It is important that when a woman is in a difficult situation, manages to realize all the consequences that occur involves abortion. This decision is something that will be for life and will never be forgotten.

You must remember above all things, that baby is being formed not to blame for the mistakes that were committed at the beginning, and he has the same right to life that took them.
